Who we are

Everyday Utility Studio operates the apps and website at everydayutilitystudio.com. Our mailing address is: 1826 Portville Obi Road, Portville, NY 14770.

Information we collect

Each app collects only what it needs to function. Refer to the specific app's in-app privacy notice for details. This website collects:

  • Email addresses submitted via a signup or contact form. These are stored in our database (see “Service providers we use” below) and are never sold or given to anyone for marketing.
  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser, page visited) for security.

How we use information

  • Email addresses: to notify you when new apps ship or when email updates are enabled.
  • No email is currently sent. Sending is disabled until further notice.
  • We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts.

Service providers we use

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing. We do rely on a small number of service providers to actually run the apps — a database has to be hosted somewhere, email has to be sent by something. These companies process data strictly on our instructions, only to provide their service to us. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. For completeness, here is every one of them and what it touches:

  • Supabase — hosts our database (on Amazon Web Services). Your account and app data live here. Encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Vercel — hosts this website and our server endpoints, including the standard server logs described above.
  • Expo — builds our mobile apps and delivers app updates.
  • Apple and Google — distribute the apps and process all purchases. We never see or store your payment card details.
  • RevenueCat — tracks which subscription an account holds. It does not receive your animal, health, or growing records.
  • PayPal — processes purchases made through this website.
  • Resend — sends transactional email (receipts, confirmations, password resets).
  • Anthropic (Claude) — powers our AI-assisted features. See the section below, because this one deserves to be spelled out.

AI-assisted features and what they send

Some features use Anthropic's Claude AI. When you use one of them, the content you supply to that feature is sent to Anthropic to generate the response. We want to be specific about which features these are, rather than leaving it to a general disclaimer:

  • Veterinary note structuring (AniLedger) — if a veterinary user chooses to use it, the clinical note text they enter is sent to Anthropic to be organized into SOAP format.
  • Plant identification (Verdix) — the photo you submit is sent to Anthropic to identify the plant.
  • Support and website chat — the messages you type are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply.

These features are optional. If you never use them, nothing is sent to Anthropic. Anthropic processes this content to return a result to you and, per its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. We do not send your full records to Anthropic in bulk — only the specific content of the request you make.

Anonymized data for research purposes (AniLedger)

AniLedger may collect and use anonymized, de-identified animal health data to support scientific research, veterinary medicine advancement, and wildlife conservation efforts. This section describes how that data is handled.

What is anonymized

Before any data is used for research purposes, all personal information is permanently stripped. This includes your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and user account identifiers. Animal names are replaced with randomly generated identifiers. Geographic information is limited to the state or regional level only — no street addresses, city names, or ZIP codes are included in research datasets.

How research data is used

Anonymized data may be shared with universities, government agencies (such as the USDA and NIH), veterinary research organizations, and conservation foundations. The purpose of this sharing is to improve animal health outcomes, advance veterinary medical knowledge, and support conservation efforts for domestic and wild species.

No re-identification

Research datasets are structured so that no individual user or animal can be identified. The de-identification process is irreversible — once personal details are removed, they cannot be reconnected to the research data.

Your choice

Participation in research data contribution is entirely voluntary. You can opt in or opt out at any time through the Settings screen within the AniLedger app. Opting out does not affect your access to any app features or your subscription status.

Verdix — data collected

Verdix collects the following information to provide its cultivation intelligence features:

  • Plant photos: Used for AI plant identification. Photos are stored in your account. When you ask the app to identify a plant, that photo is sent to Anthropic to generate the identification — see “AI-assisted features and what they send” above. Photos are not sold or shared with anyone for marketing.
  • Garden layouts: Garden bed designs and planting plans you create within the app are stored in your account.
  • Location data: Used to determine your USDA hardiness zone, provide weather-based alerts, frost warnings, and seasonal care adjustments. Location is stored at the regional level only — no precise GPS coordinates are retained on our servers.
  • Care schedules: Watering, fertilizing, pruning, and harvest records you log within the app.
  • IoT sensor data: If you connect soil sensors or greenhouse monitors, readings (moisture, temperature, light, humidity) are stored in your account to power dashboards and alerts.
  • Financial records: Expense and revenue data you enter for farm or garden tracking. This stays in your account. It is never sent to any AI feature, never used for research, and never shared.

Verdix does not export or share your data for research purposes. All data remains in your account and is deleted upon account deletion. See the account deletion page for details.

Your rights

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the address above. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
